A two part elastomeric membrane that is sprayed rather than rolled. The two components react on contact and gel in seconds, so it builds real thickness in one pass and cures fast enough to take rain the same day. Once cured it behaves like a flexible rubber skin over the whole roof, with no seams and no fasteners anywhere in it.
Better at different things, and worth the extra only where those things matter. Polyurea wins on speed, on thickness in a single pass, on foot traffic and on roofs that move, because it stretches instead of splitting. Silicone wins on ponded water and on price. Acrylic is the cheapest and the shortest lived of the three in Arizona sun. On a sound, static roof we will point you at the cheaper system rather than sell you the expensive one.
Usually yes. Polyurea can go over spray polyurethane foam, metal, modified bitumen, concrete and most sound existing coatings, with the right primer for each. It cannot go over anything wet, loose or contaminated. We check the surface, probe for moisture under it and look at every seam and penetration first, because a coating is only as sound as what it is bonded to.
